ONE: Built Up
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:1-40
In 1 Corinthians 14, Paul teaches that spiritual gifts are meant to build up the church, not draw attention to individuals. He emphasizes that gathered worship should be marked by both the presence of the Spirit and the clear proclamation of God’s truth. Because God desires His people to be strengthened and transformed, everything done in worship should be understandable, edifying, and orderly. Paul highlights the importance of speaking God’s Word in ways that encourage believers and point unbelievers to Christ. As a church, we want to be a people of both the Word and the Spirit, gathering in ways that display God’s power, truth, presence, and love.
