Hebrews 11: Noah - Enduring Faith

The first few verses of Hebrews 11 teach us what faith is, and the rest of the chapter teaches us what faith looks like. This week, we look at one of the most famous stories in all the Bible: Noah and the ark. This single verse points us to several truths about real faith. See, Noah believed God over his eyes, thoughts, and feelings. Faith believes what it does not see! Noah was motivated by a healthy fear of the Lord, which caused him to step out boldly (true faith always expresses itself in action), and he lived a life that convicted the world around him. Ultimately, the story of Noah points us to the greater Noah, the One who would come to face the waters of God’s wrath so that all who are in the safety of this ark (Jesus) might be saved from the waves of destruction forever!

New Life Community Church Everyone has faith … in something. The chair you're sitting in, the car you drove this morning, the roof over your head, and the worldview you subscribe to. But what is the essence of faith and why does it seem so important to God? Faith isn’t the absence of doubt, it isn’t about having all the answers, faith is about learning to trust God and who He is before you see the outcome. It’s a beautiful way to live, walking by faith, and watching God illuminate each step as you take it!
