It’s remarkable that out of everything the disciples could have asked Jesus to teach them—like performing miracles or defeating enemies—they asked how to receive the light. Jesus shows us that receiving Him is the key to becoming children of God. It’s not about where we come from, our efforts, or decisions—it’s about a divine act of grace that opens our hearts to the light of Christ. When we receive Him, we are given a new identity, a new family, and an eternal inheritance. This Advent season, as we reflect on Christ’s light, let us be reminded of the miracle of mercy that makes us children of God. May we fully embrace this truth and live with the confidence of those who belong to Him.
