In a world that relentlessly pulls our attention toward the flesh—toward self-preservation, success, and gratification—the Apostle Paul calls us to a radical reorientation: to set our minds on the Spirit who dwells within us. This message from Romans 8:5-11 reminds us that our transformation doesn’t come through sheer willpower or religious performance, but by surrendering to the Spirit’s work within us. Just as the Spirit raised Christ from the dead, He brings new life to our mortal bodies, empowering us toward righteousness and peace with God. Whether we’re weighed down by sin, stuck in spiritual stagnation, or simply striving for control, the invitation is the same: deny the flesh, embrace the Spirit, and walk in the freedom and life that comes only through Christ.
