What does it mean to belong to God—to truly know who we are? In a world brimming with identity confusion, Romans 8:12–17 offers stunning clarity: we are not defined by our past, our failures, or even our accomplishments, but by our position in Christ. We’re not debtors to the flesh—we’re adopted into God’s family. We’ve been given His Spirit, not to live in fear, but to cry out “Abba, Father” with confidence and intimacy. Our identity is not something we earn, but a gift we receive—one that brings security, purpose, and the promise of eternal inheritance as co-heirs with Christ. May we live like children of a good and perfect Father, who not only saves us, but brings us home.
