Advent: Witness to the Light
Scripture: John 1:1-11, John 1:29
In John 1, we are introduced to the incredible truth that Jesus is the Light of the world, the Creator of all things, and the source of life. The apostle John sets the stage for the Advent season by reminding us that despite the darkness in our world, Jesus is the Light that shines through it, and the darkness cannot overcome it. John the Baptist plays a vital role as a witness to this Light, calling us to recognize and reflect the true Light in our own lives. As we move through life’s joys, challenges, and waiting seasons, we are reminded that we, too, are called to be witnesses, reflecting the light of Christ in every circumstance. This Christmas, let’s not miss the light that has come to pierce the darkness—Jesus, our Savior, who calls us to shine His light into the world around us. May we be a people who boldly testify to the Light, even in our pain and waiting, trusting that He is with us, and His light will never be overcome.
