It’s amazing that out of everything the disciples could have asked Jesus to teach them, they asked Him to teach them how to pray. What follows is a pattern that emphasizes not the length of prayer, but its depth and personal connection to God. Prayer is not a ritual but a conversation with our Heavenly Father, filled with worship, bold petitions, and requests for forgiveness and protection. In this Advent season, as we reflect on the arrival of Jesus, we remember both His first coming and eagerly anticipate His return. Just as John opens his gospel with a powerful declaration of Jesus as the eternal Word who created all things, we too are invited to embrace the light and life He offers, knowing that through Him, we connect with God’s presence and power in our lives.
