The mission of New Life Community Church is helping people find & follow Jesus.
We didn’t invent this statement. It comes from the words of Jesus Himself. In fact, it’s the very last thing He said to His followers before going back into heaven:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. [Matthew 28:19-20]
We take this very seriously. This is the “lens” through which we view the world. We constantly check ourselves to make sure we’re in line with the job Jesus left us here to do. To the extent that we’re not, we re-correct our path. At the end of the day, when we stand before Jesus we want to hear Him say to us, “Well done New Life. You did exactly what I asked you to do. You’ve been good and faithful servants.”
To help us stay on track, there are 4 key areas we prioritize to ensure we’re helping people find & follow Jesus. These are:
-
- Worship. We prioritize regular times of corporate worship, and encourage everybody at New Life to do the same. Our worship is accessible, vibrant and contemporary. Our preaching explains the Bible in a dynamic and passionate way, consistently presenting the gospel, and containing practical application for us all.
- Community. We prioritize regular times of Christian community, and encourage everyone at New Life to gather together in smaller group settings. We want our people to “do life” together; to be involved in discipleship and loving, supporting and teaching one another how to better follow Jesus.
- Serving. We prioritize regular opportunities for service, both inside and outside the church. We want our people to be serving each other and serving alongside one another. We want New Life to reflect the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in and around our church and city.
- Mission. We prioritize regular opportunities for to participate in spreading the gospel around our world, whether through giving or going. We want all at New Life to prioritize the advancement of our mission, whether in our own city, across the country or around the world. We want every person in the church to be an active part of others hearing the good news of salvation.
