How to meet the Secret Millionaire.

How to meet the Secret Millionaire. The reality TV show is a big hit. But reality is bigger than life. The essence of the show has a mega wealthy person live undercover for a week in a poor and impoverished community environment. This person has a taste of life on the “other” side, connecting with people in the community, living among them and sharing their experiences . . . for a week. At the conclusion of the show and before returning to their personal “paradise,” they reveal their identity and make a generous endowment from their personal fortune. While the “solution” may not be lasting, this is still a good example of how a generous, empathetic person can empower those in need of hope and help them rise above their circumstances. We are told in scripture to have that same attitude. To have the same attitude as one who though blessed with wealth and privilege did not reserve all this for his own advantage. He humbled himself, giving up the right to his position and surrendered his life to come under the authority of One as a slave and to come alongside others as a servant. We read in scripture that “God highly exalted Him” for doing so. (Phil. 2:5-11) Let’s be quick to remember that our “millionaire” was on God’s mission. Jesus surrendered himself to accomplish God’s mission to redeem mankind to God. (2 Cor. 5:18+) Jesus declared his mission saying “I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (Jn. 6:38) And to what purpose? “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 Jn. 3:8) Having accomplished this at the cross, Jesus cleared the way for us to experience life. Meaningful life. Satisfying life. “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) Yes, our Secret Millionaire went home to heaven. But he left an inheritance with every Christian and challenges us to be Secret Millionaires, having his same attitude by offering the rich gift of “life” to others. Who will you t“gift” his week? Think About It.
