The Cure

We started our series on conflict last week by going all the way back to the beginning and looking at the fall of Adam & Eve in the garden. As sin entered the world and fractured the cosmos, every human being since that fateful day has been born with a sin nature, spiritually dead and separated from God. This conflict and separation between mankind and God is the most tragic result of the fall. We try to fix this brokenness in a variety of ways but always end up failing because what’s broken, is broken at the heart level. At our core we are sinners. And yet, God’s love for His people is so relentless, that He has made a solution to the conflict and brokenness between people and their Creator. The book of Romans tells us that while we were still sinners, God sent Jesus on a rescue mission for us. Jesus is the truer and better Adam. Just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), reconciliation with God is offered through one man (Jesus.) It is through His shed blood that we can now been reconciled to God and forgiven of all of our sins through His sacrifice on our behalf. Jesus is the cure to our conflict and separation from God! This is the greatest news!
